Board of Directors
- James Bradley — Board Member
- James Bradley (Executive Director) is a Technologist and Educator. Bradley is a consultant and developer of web software applications. He has taught hundreds of professional studies students as a core instructor in the Digital Design, Web and Multimedia Technology programs of New York University’s School of Continuing and Professional Studies, since 1995; and in Hunter College (CUNY), Film & Media Studies’ Digital Media program, since 2000.
- Patricia Davies — Board Member
- Patricia Davies is the founder of The Public Good, a strategic planning and organizational development group with a focus on non-profits. She has provided services for government agencies including the US Internal Revenue Service, the NYC Office of Management & Budget, NYC Department of Homeless Services, NYC Human Resources Administration, NYC Department of Small Business Services, and non-profit organizations such as Goodwill Industries of Greater New York and Northern NJ, Inc., Bailey House, Inc., Music Performance Trust Funds, and The Enterprise Foundation.
- Herbert Engel — Board Member
- Herb Engel (BEE, MBA) is one of the core counselors with The Westchester, NY Chapter of SCORE (Service Corps of Retired Executives), which is part of a national nonprofit association operating under the auspices of the U.S. Small Business Administration. Engel is also an Engineer Consultant at Sumitomo Corp. in areas of procurement, contract administration and marketing.
- David Friedlander — Board Member
- David Friedlander is a consultant in analytical systems and was president of Vector Space Inc., a software service organization, until its acquisition in November 2006. His activities as manager, analyst and developer have engaged him with many major companies using a variety of technologies. An activist in NYC, David has been a tenant leader and served on the organizing committee for the Computers for Social Change conference.
- Amy A. Hsieh — Board Member
- Amy A. Hsieh (Director of Operations) was Vice President in charge of data migration for the Chase online “eBanking” application. Her experience as a systems engineer and software application developer has been largely in the financial services sector, inc. J.P. Morgan Chase & Co., Security First Corp., Edify Corp., Deloitte & Touche. She has also worked for Sun Microsystems and TRW Systems Integration. Hsieh received her technology education at NYU, the University Of California, Berkeley, and at the University Of California, Davis (Bachelor of Science in Computer Science).
- Franklin Madison, Jr. — Board Member
- Franklin Madison, Jr. is TechNYC Program Director at ITAC (Industrial and Technology Assistance Corporation), a non-profit economic development organization dedicated to creating and retaining jobs for New Yorkers. Since 1999, he has served as Technology Program Director, responsible for the strategic development and implementation of new programs to assist high-technology firms in NYC. Madison works with many non-profit groups and associations including: The New York City Economic Development Corporation’s Telecom Policy Advisory Group; The Advisory Committee to the CUNY Institute for Software Design and Development/Partnership for Innovation Program; SJF Advisory Services, a non-profit organization that provides entrepreneurial, workforce and sustainability assistance services.
- Bienvenida Matías — Board Member
- Bienvenida Matías is Executive Director of the Association of Hispanic Arts (AHA) is New York City. She is a founding member and Board Chair of the National Coordinator for the National Association of Latino Independent Producers (NALIP). An independent documentary producer (FOR THE RECORD: GUAM IN WWII, THE STATE OF THE TERRITORY, EL CORAZON DE LOISAIDA), “Beni” is also active in arts criticism, education and community activism. In addition to being an award-winning filmmaker and highly regarded teacher, Matías was the Executive Director of the Center for Arts Criticism in Minneapolis; Director of Production for ITVS, Executive-in-Charge of Production at WNYC-TV, and Executive Director of The Association of Independent Video and Filmmakers (AIVF).
- Nestor Nelson — Board Member
- Nestor Nelson is a former Managing Director of IT at ICAP PLC. Nestor has a sixteen-year career in derivatives and technology. Current responsibilities range from managing ICAP’s Market Data Infrastructure globally to overseeing their Analytics development. Nestor brings a diverse exposure to various technologies including real-time messaging and distributed systems architecture focused on delivering to customer requirements.
- Virginia Teller — Board Member
- Virginia Teller is currently Professor and Chair of the Computer Science Department at Hunter College (CUNY) in New York City. She is also on the doctoral faculties of the Computer Science and Linguistics PhD Programs at the CUNY Graduate Center. She earned a PhD in Linguistics from New York University in 1978 and joined the faculty at Hunter College in 1981. Now she is spearheading a long-term effort to create a PhD pipeline at Hunter for women and minorities in computer science.
- Steven Masur — Board Member/Corporate Counsel
- Steve is the founding partner and general manager of MasurLaw, a globally recognized media and entertainment law firm focused on new technologies. MasurLaw performs corporate, intellectual property and business transactions scaling its services to the needs of large established companies as well as traditional entertainment clients. Masur also serves on the boards of several non-profit organizations in NYC.
