Web Application Developer
Background:
- Experience using Open Source/CMS Framework for developing web
applications (esp. Drupal)
- Experience writing SQL statements to extract data from databases such
as MySQL
- Experience with dynamically generated web-pages with both server-side
and client-side scripts such as PHP, JSP, and JavaScript.
- Self-starter and willing to go the extra mile
- Keep good documentation for network and system configuration
- Have good programming skills and understand one or more programming languages
- Can read code written by others and make modifications accordingly
Experience: 2-4 years web application development experience expected
Duration: Minimum Six months.
Compensation: Volunteer position. Contract work in addition.

Program Associate
Duties: The Program Associate will assist the Directors in areas of organizational development, capacity building, marketing strategies and financial resources for WSU. The Program Associate will also be the point-person for contact between the Directors, Board and Strategic Partners. This individual will contribute to development and enhancement of WebServesUs web deployments and web application development.
Conditions: Part-Time (15-20 hrs/wk).
Compensation: Volunteer basis for 6 months. Position eventually to become Paid Staff.
Areas/Skills desired:
- Must be excellent writer, copy editor in English (keywords: Writing, Journalism, Reporting, Marketing, Advertising)
- Good verbal communication skills in English (Bilingual English-Spanish is a plus)
- Microsoft Office (word-processing, spreadsheets)
- Microsoft Access (spreadsheets, data management)
- Knowledge of Web patterns and Internet technologies
- General Computer knowledge: Intermediate level (Mac & PC)
- Good interpersonal skills
Project Assistant (Technology Support)
- Hours: approx. 15-20 hrs/week
- Period: approx. 3-6 months
- Start Date: Immediately
Compensation: Volunteer basis for 6 months. Position eventually to become

- Programming/Coding knowledge: HTML, JavaScript, Flash, PHP, MySQL
- General Computer knowledge: Intermediate to Advanced level (Mac & PC)
